ASSOCIATION OF RESIDENTIAL LETTING AGENTS
The Association of Residential Letting Agents
was formed in 1981 as the national professional
and regulatory body for member firms working
in the complex field of letting and managing
residential property.
ARLA appraises and regulates all member companies
and provides guidelines, training and advice.
This ensures a framework of ethical standards
and professionalism is maintained at a level
far higher than the law demands as the skills
of member firms and their staff are continually
developed by ARLA seminars and training courses.
These are held at national and local levels.
Membership is achieved only after strict investigation
and interview. ARLA members must have a full
understanding of the terms and provisions
of successive Rent Acts, Housing Acts and
contract of law.
ARLA member firms are bonded and hold professional
indemnity insurance to protect the financial
interests of landlords and tenants.
ARLA is recognised by government and local authorities,
consumer interest groups and the media as
the leading professional body in the private
sector and the economy as whole.
ARLA has the experience and knowledge to equip
letting agents to deal with the complexities
of letting for both landlords and tenants
and to campaign for necessary changes in legislation
and practices. Hodgson Elkington & Co have been members
of ARLA since 1992 and are the only company
in Lincoln and one of three companies in Newark
who are also Chartered Surveyors again having
strict financial controls imposed upon them.
This shows the Company's continued commitment
towards better professional standards within
the Letting & Management Industry. |
