Hodgson Elkington, the Lincoln and Newark chartered surveyors and property consultants are pioneering the use of interconnecting web sites to promote commercial property in the East Midlands to potential investors world wide.

Cutting edge American technology has provided e-mail links from the web site direct to the desks of individual chartered surveyors working in the business.

The web site contains details of their whole portfolio of commercial properties and is updated daily. The site also contains links to other property databases, local authority web sites and items of interest to property owners and occupiers.

Hodgson Elkington have also independently sponsored the development of www.strategic-sites.co.uk which has been designed to attract inward investment to Lincolnshire and the eastern borders of Nottinghamshire.

"It has been a real challenge to develop a site that can be really useful to people who own and occupy property. The present
stage of development allows enquirers to search our database and automatically order brochures on line. We see the internet as helping us to provide a seven day a week, twenty four hour a day information service to an international audience," said senior partner, Chris Hodgson.

Special features of the web site include location maps for most properties, zoomable photographs and useful links to other sources of local and demographic information.

"We are now developing a database of other commercial agents' properties throughout the UK and expect to bring this on-line before the end of the year. This will then give our clients and customers access to a searchable database of approaching 40,000 properties," said Mr Hodgson.
