One of
Lincoln's most historic and important buildings
- the 15th century Cardinal's Hat at the
corner of High Street and Grantham Street - is
looking for a new occupier.

The
half timbered, listed property is located at the
top of Lincoln's pedestrianised High Street was
until recently occupied by the Bank of Scotland.
Following their vacation it has been put on the
market by chartered surveyors Hodgson Elkington.
The Cardinal's Hat - so named after
Henry VIII's minister, Thomas Wolsey, Bishop of
Lincoln in 1514-15 who became a cardinal in the
same year - was lovingly restored by the
St John Ambulance Brigade in the 1950s and is a
much photographed feature by tourists visiting
the city.
"Of particular interest is the
contrast between the historic exterior and the
high-tech, modern office style interior. The
building would also lend itself to upmarket
retail use and subject to the landlord's
approval and planning permission, perhaps a
specialist restaurant," said Hodgson
Elkington partner, Daniel Race.
The 2,287 sq ft premises are available leasehold
at a rent of £21,000 per annum. Further details

Elkington telephone 01522 512232.
