Expansion for city shoe
shop
A Lincoln quality ladies and gents footwear
specialist, John Anthony Fine Shoes, is relocating
from 272 High Street to much larger premises
at 156 High Street - a job-creating move which
holds out the prospect of further expansion.
"We had outgrown our small shop on the
top stretch of the High Street and needed
room to expand. Now we will be better positioned
and equipped to do that. We have also taken
on another full time sales person to meet
the anticipated trade," said manager
Neal Bristow.
"The new shop, adjacent to the St Mark's
retail development, will allow the business
to double its sales and storage areas in a
more centralised position in a busy shopping
area," said Daniel Race, partner at agents,
chartered surveyors, Hodgson Elkington, the
agents who have handled the relocation.
The family owned group, which began in Alford,
has been in Lincoln for the past 17 years.
It specialises in the better quality end of
the ladies and gents shoe sector and operates
a fitting service. The group also has shops
in Horncastle, Grimsby and Newark and employs
12 people.
The staff of three at Lincoln expect to be
trading from the new premises from September
24.
