Pop lacrosse
for local
primary schools

Following a partnership between Hodgson
Elkington Commercial Estate Agents, Leisure
Connection Limited and The English Lacrosse
Association a POP lacrosse scheme has been
launched within the North Kesteven District.
The scheme is designed for local primary
schools to have their first taste of Lacrosse
activity. It is the beginning of further
planned developments across the whole district.
The game itself uses plastic sticks and
balls to simulate the game in a non contact
and safe environment.
Thanks to the support of Hodgson Elkington
Commercial Estate Agents each participating
school has had opportunity to borrow bags
of POP lacrosse equipment to further practice
and develop skills in their own school environment.
The session pictured above brought together
a number of the primary schools that have
already been working on the programme for
a POP lacrosse workshop led by the regional
development officer, Mike Aspinall. In
total over 50, years 5 and 6 primary school
children who attended were able to practice
new skills and apply them in some competitive
games.
Ben Jackson, Sports Outreach Officer for
Leisure Connection Limited added "The scheme
has been a great success so far, to date
we have worked with about 6 local primary
schools all of which have enjoyed the new
opportunity"
"It is now hoped that the schools can continue
to practice and come back together for a
tournament in February".
If any primary schools from within the North
Kesteven District are interested in being
involved please contact Ben Jackson on 01522
883311.
